What types of trailers are there? What are their characteristics?
The scientific name of a trailer-type RV is a "travel trailer", which is a type of light trailer. A few years ago, you could drive with a C1 driver's license. However, due to its special structure, there was a lot of controversy at the time. It was not until the new driving test regulations were introduced that it became clear that driving a light trailer requires a C6 driver's license. Of course, there is a prerequisite. That is, the total mass of the front vehicle plus the trailer must be less than 4500kg. If it does not meet the standards, you can only drive with an A2 license.

From the classification point of view, trailer-type RVs can be mainly divided into three categories: American, European and domestic:
1. American RV
Generally, vehicles are tall and tall, with a higher chassis, a relatively large ground clearance, and good vehicle passability. The interior is generally equipped with functional areas such as bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and living rooms. There are expansion cabins on both sides that can slide outward. The activity space is relatively large and the home appliances are complete, such as air conditioners, TVs, microwaves, water heaters, audio-visual entertainment systems, etc. They are generally available, giving people a high-end atmosphere and a relatively high level of comfort.
The length of American RVs is generally about 8m or 9m, and some can exceed 12m. They are relatively large in size, and of course their own weight is relatively large. They require a more powerful tractor and have relatively high fuel consumption. On some height-limited roads, their passability is difficult. May be subject to restrictions.
2. European RV
The design concept of European RVs is different from that of American RVs. They tend to be lightweight, low fuel consumption, and relaxed and free. Most of their lengths do not exceed 8.5m. In terms of internal layout, European-style RVs are smaller and fresher, pursuing refinement and delicacy, paying attention to details and color matching. The furniture is mainly made of multi-layer composite boards with stickers, giving people a sense of elegance and intelligence. It has a strong sense of modern technology and is suitable for young people.
European RVs have a low chassis and light body, and are suitable for many types of tractors. Generally, cars or SUVs with a capacity of 1.6L or above can be used. Of course, the low chassis may affect the passability when encountering potholes and uneven roads. In addition, the space is slightly smaller than that of American RVs.
3. Domestic RVs
Domestic RVs are designed according to the usage habits of Chinese people. The biggest features of RVs are that they are cheap and cost-effective, with easy replacement of accessories and convenient maintenance.
Domestic RVs started late, but the necessary equipment and facilities are quite complete. Some details or technologies are still not as advanced as imported RVs.
In addition to the above three categories, trailer-mounted RVs can also be divided into trailer-type A-type RVs, trailer-type B-type RVs, trailer-type C-type RVs, and trailer-type D-type RVs based on different appearances and functions. and mobile home-style RVs.
1. Type A RV
The length is generally about 6-10m, and it can accommodate 6 people. It is connected to an SUV or car through connectors and hooks. The sleeping, showering, cooking, and dining facilities on the car are comfortable and complete. Most trailer-type RVs have space expansion designs. , both sides of the car body will expand outward to enlarge the dining, sleeping, and kitchen areas.
2. Type B RV
The general length is between 7-13m and can accommodate about 8 people. Its tractor is usually a pickup truck and has a split-level living space, which is suitable for weekend vacations, family outings or year-round travel.
3. Type C RV
The length is generally about 4-6m, and it can seat 6 people. It is characterized by low price, light weight, easy to use, and many specifications and models. 4. D-type RV
Different from other trailer structures, it is a piggyback RV, which can be carried on a pickup truck or a modified truck tank. The length of the vehicle is about 5.5-6.5m, and it can seat about 4 people. The structure is relatively compact, simple and economical. If it is used in road conditions For camping in bad situations, this kind of RV is more advantageous.
5. Mobile villa type RV
Its length is generally between 6-12m, which is suitable for enthusiasts who travel for a long time. It usually needs to be transported to the camp with a special or heavy-duty flatbed trailer. This kind of RV has large space, complete facilities, comfort and convenience, and is as convenient and free to use as home. However, this kind of mobile villa-type RV is generally not equipped with a power supply. Once parked, it must be connected to the public power system to replenish power, which is not suitable for owners who frequently change camping sites.
